Sharp Island Lodge is built on an island on the scenic Lake Bunyonyi in South West Uganda. Sharp island has a great historical background. Locally named as "Njuyeera" - which means the "White House" in the local Rukiga language, the Island is named after a Missionary and a Doctor, Dr. Leonard Sharp, who called the island home in the early 20th century and who pioneered the local healthcare system in the early 1920s
